Rumtopf
Rumtopf (Rumpot) preserves, and beverage, is a German winter tradition. Instead of canning or pickling fruit, you soak it in rum and sugar. You’ll add fruit as it comes into season and is at its peak flavor. Traditionally it is placed in a rumpot ceramic canister, but a large mason jar works just fine for a smaller batch.
